Employment & Training

The Department provides services that will increase employability skills and reduce individual dependence on social programs.

The Mi’kmaw Employment & Training Officer is responsible for providing career and employment counseling to facilitate and promote employment opportunities for Paqtnkek clients. The department provides needs assessment and career counseling, along with identifying employment opportunities. The department also secures funding for employment activities and programs thus ensuring compliance with employment programs of the Sub-Agreement that all Mi’kmaw employment officers must adhere to.
