Housing & Infrastructure
Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is a vibrant, growing community. The Department of Housing and Infrastructure is an important part of the development team, focused on the design, construction and maintenance of all band-operated buildings and band housing units.
The Department also oversees water and sewer development and maintenance, snow removal, grounds maintenance, roadway construction and maintenance, and participates in emergency management organization activities.
As Paqtnkek continues to grow and develop, the department will play an integral role in infrastructure development related to the highway development project. This project will provide additional commercial opportunities for community members and increase housing construction with lands set aside for increased housing units to accommodate Paqtnkek’s growing families and membership.
Request For Proposal for Apartment Building Design
Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is inviting bidders from appropriate consultant firms to submit proposals for the design of a new 26-unit apartment building. View or download the detailed PDF via the button below.
Online Housing Application
The Paqtnkeks First Nation has introduced a new Online Housing Application to make applying for homes simpler and faster. Now, community members can fill out their housing applications online instead of using paper forms. This helps everyone get their applications done more quickly and easily, even from far away.
