The Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Fund Project: Shaping the Future of Nova’s Aquatic Ecosystems Through Collaboration, Innovation, and Impactful Applied Restoration.
We are looking to find new members for our Aquatic Habitat Restoration Working Group that was established last year. We are looking to connect community members and local watershed groups together to discuss issues in the Gulf region from fish health and stream health.
We will be focusing on Plamu (Atlantic salmon), Atoqwa’su (trout) and Katew (American eel). An honorarium will be provided to members. There will be potential for training opportunities.
We are looking for adult members that are
• Fishers, harvesters and Elders with recent experience and knowledge within the Gulf region • Members have reliable transportation (travel expenses provided) • Interest and willingness to share knowledge and experience for the purpose of improving fish habitat on the in the Gulf region • Interesting in potentially helping with future restoration work
Meeting will be on November 20, 2025 in Pictou Landing with further details to follow
