Fisheries

The Fisheries Department for Paqtnkek is responsible for managing and conserving the aquatic resources in the community’s traditional territory. The department works to ensure sustainable fishing practices and to protect the community’s fishing rights. It may also engage in research and monitoring of fish populations and habitats, as well as community outreach and education programs to promote responsible fishing practices. Additionally, the department may collaborate with other government agencies and stakeholders to develop policies and regulations related to fisheries management.

We have rescheduled the Polymer Clay Workshop! 🍃♻️🎨🌱 Conservation meets the arts on March 15, 2026. Join the Community Eelgrass Restoration Initiative (CERI) at Wunderneath for a day of eelgrass/coastal education with CPAWS and create beautiful clay art with Ukrainian-born sculptor, Yuliia Khovbosha!
