The Algonquian Indigenous nation that occupies the territory of Mi’kma’ki (Atlantic Canada and the Gaspé peninsula). This spelling indicates a reference to the collective or the plural form. It roughly translates to “family” or “relations.”

This is a free apprenticeship program called NexGen Green Builders – Workforce Development (NGB-WD) aimed at building capacity in the low-carbon sector for youth and adults aged 18+. The program includes:
12 weeks of online workshops every Wed from October 21 to December 6; then January 6 to January 13
One workshop has passed so far but it's not too late to sign up; workshops are recorded so you can catch up.
Each workshop involves solving problems commonly faced in the clean energy sector (for example, solar panels are expensive and therefore inaccessible to many)
Workshop topics vary from clean energy to energy efficiency; presented by industry professionals
Work on a group project (4-6 people) to present to investors at the Build Green Atlantic Conference in May 2027
Project will focus on solving a problem faced in the low-carbon industry discussed in workshops
