Registered Nurse (RN): 1 Year Term, Full time

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Health, the registered nurse performs nursing duties in relation to community health nursing, health education, treatment and rehabilitative services, health promotion and disease prevention for community members.

The registered nurse is responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services in First Nation communities, in program areas of community health, through promotion and maintenance of the health of individuals, families groups, communities and populations that value the principles of primary health care and focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health as well as when required a focus on curative, urgent and emergent care, rehabilitation and supportive care.

Senior Fisheries Advisor (1-2 Year Contract)

Position Summary:

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking a Senior Fisheries Advisor. This is a term based advisory role responsible for supporting the Director of Fisheries in administrative, managerial, and operational duties. This position will provide high level guidance to improve departmental efficiency, ensure compliance with fisheries regulations, and strengthen operational readiness across all fisheries programs. The Advisor will also lead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in creating comprehensive training plans for new and existing employees.

Principal: Paqtnkek Education Centre

Position Summary:

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and culturally grounded leader to serve as Principal of the Paqtnkek Education Centre. The Principal will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment rooted in Mi’kmaw values, language, and culture.

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation Red Road Project Youth Worker

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Red Road Project Youth Worker to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Paqtnkek Recreation Coordinator to provide mentorship, develop and implement youth programs, and facilitate activities that support the personal and cultural growth of our young community members.

Community Outreach Worker

Position Summary:

The Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation Health Centre is seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Outreach Worker to join our health team. This vital role focuses on promoting health and wellness, building relationships, and delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed outreach services to community members.

Homecare Coordinator, Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation

Position Summary:

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Homecare Coordinator to lead and coordinate home and community care services for community members. The Homecare Coordinator will ensure culturally safe, high-quality care that supports Elders and individuals requiring assistance to remain safely in their homes.

Home Maker

Position Summary:

As part of our care team a Homemaker supports the client by maintaining their ability to continue living home safely with the proper support. A Homemaker performs various housekeeping tasks, meal preparation and companionship activities for clients in their home.

Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Daycare

DESCRIPTION: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educators (ECE) with a strong background in supporting children with special needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), both verbal and non-verbal. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with children who require individualized support to thrive in a preschool setting.

DESCRIPTION: Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking an Adult Learning Coordinator – Someone who holds a central position in advancing our organization’s commitment to delivering exceptional adult education initiatives within the Paqtnkek community. Operating under the direct supervision of the Education Director, this vital role encompasses a range of core responsibilities that are essential to the success of our educational programs.

PAQTNKEK CERTIFIED ADDICTIONS COUNSELLOR

DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Certified Addictions Counsellor to provide individual and group counseling, education, and support services to individuals affected by substance use within Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation. This role will involve working closely with community members, families, and other service providers to ensure culturally competent care, fostering healing, and promoting recovery.

RFP: Framework for Grief Services & Programming

Request for Proposal Summary:

You are invited to submit one copy of a proposal to develop a Framework for Grief Services & Programming in the form of a Document for Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation.

Position Summary:

Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and proven leader to serve as Chief Administrative Officer. This is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for overseeing both the day-to-day and strategic operations of the community.

The CAO will lead the senior management team in strategic and community planning, funding and budgeting initiatives, and operations across all administrative departments. The role is central to building the culture, values, and traditions of the organization, while driving social and economic growth for generations to come.

Store Manager – Bayside Gas & Convenience

Position Summary:

Bayside Gas & Convenience is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Store Manager to lead daily operations and deliver exceptional customer service. Reporting to and working closely with the Bayside General Manager, the Store Manager will be bondable, ensure efficient store operations, maintain high standards of customer care, and support a positive, community-focused work environment.

Store Cashier – Bayside Gas and Convenience

Position Summary:

Bayside Gas and Convenience is currently seeking a dependable and customer-focused Store Cashier to join our team. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Cashier is responsible for the sale of fuel, automotive products, in-store merchandise, tobacco, lottery tickets, and related sundries.

This role involves operating the cash register, processing credit and debit transactions, cheque validation, and accurate cash handling. Additional responsibilities include stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the premises.

This position supports families, pregnant mothers, infants, and young children by providing culturally grounded health programming, home visits, education, and advocacy. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
